On
the left shows Treadway & Percy: The picture shows their
Churchgate Street Shop
which sold wine and spirits. Their Brewery being situated off the East
end of Brewhouse Lane just of Paddock Street, which they had taken over
from the Cutlacks Brewers from the 1890's to c.1925. The shop or public
house was also known as the Saracens Head belonging to the brewery.
The
old Brewery in Paddock Street shown on the right is possibly the
one owned
by Treadway & Percy, now in residential use, Paddock Street
also contained two large Malt houses nearby, shown on a map of 1886.
Further research needs to be done to find out who owned which premises.
