
The
left hand photo shows an image of the High Street, the area of empty
land towards the front is where the present day Post Office and Coop
are situated, this area of land was where the Old Rectory once stood.
Not a lot of traffic is shown in the High Street in those days, the
right hand photo is of the same.
Most of the buildings shown still exist today.

The
photo on the left shows looking towards Churchgate Street and the
Market Place.
The photo on the right shows onother view taken in 1935. Looking
towards Fountain Lane. Not many houses here then !.

The photo on the right is of Soham Village College, (Beechurst), as it looked in 1953. The large white house in the foreground is Addison House once the home of Dr Thomas Addison Surgeon of Soham in the late 18th Century.

view of Beechurst, once the home of the Morbey Family built in 1900 and
purchased by Cambridgeshire County Council in 1925 for a new home for
the Old Grammar School.
