The Weatheralls School was opened in 1971 as a new Infants School with 8 classrooms to take 240 Children. The buildings were mostly flat roofed. In 1976 it had 300 Children with a third of them attending the Nursery School that was attached. In 1992 after being extended the Weatheralls became the new mixed Council School taking over 360 older Children. Today the Weatheralls takes Children from the age of 3 - 11 years of age. The Weatheralls is situated off Pratt Street.
