The Rev. J. C. Rust.
The Rev. John Cyprian Rust died at Soham Vicarage, Cambridgeshire, last week, at the age of 86.  He was at Pembroke College Cambridge, where he took his degree in 1863 as 12th in the Classical Tripos, and a junior optime. He won the Kaye divinity prize in 1874, and the Seatonian prize for a sacred poem in 1879.  He was ordained in 1864 as curate of St. James, Doncaster, and master in Doncaster Grammar School, and in the following year was elected a fellow of his college, serving subsequently as classical lecturer and as dean.  In 1874 he vacated his fellowship on appointment  to the college living of Soham.
