Obituary
The
Late Mrs Lucy Hills, following an illness lasting about 5 months. The
Death occurred on Wednesday week of Mrs Lucy Hills who for
the
past 32 years has resided on Qua Fen Common, near the Holmes House. The
Deceased who was a Widow of the late Mr Edward Hills who
pre-deceased her about 24 years, was well known through out the Parish,
and highly respected. Upwards of 20 years she had carried out the
duties of Caretaker at the Boys County School, and consequently, she
was also well acquainted with many of the younger generation.
She
was a native of Soham, the respect in which she was held was fully
manifest at the Interment which took place on Tuesday.
The
Vicar Rev. P.F. Boughey officiating during the service at the Cemetery,
the lesson was read by Mr G.F.Fenton, who was Headmaster of the School
at the time when the Deceased was engaged there. Amongst the

The White Coffin was polished Elm , with brass Fittings and inscribed
Lucy Hills Died August 3rd 1932, aged 78.
The Funeral arrangements were carried out by Fuller & Johnson
of Soham.
