The Ceremony for the unveiling of the War Memorial was held on Sunday 23rd January 1921 at 2.30 pm. The War Memorial is situated on Red Lion Square  and was erected in Honoured Memory of the Men of Soham who gave their lives for Liberty and Justice in the Great War, 1914 - 1919 and later also Commemorating those who lost their lives in WW11. Major General Sir G.W. Hare, K.C.M.G., C.B., unveiled the Monument.
