
Clarks
Drove is situated of Broad Piece leading down towards the Soham Mere,
the Drove
is not shown on early maps, but there is a break in the Mere Bank shown
on a map of 1656, where Clarks Drove is today, the area then being
called Shoulder Hill being shown as only a small area within a area
called The Meare Bank Common. The photo on the top left shows Clarks
Drove looking towards Broad Piece taken from the entrance to Middle
Mere Farm , on the right shows the old bridge across the Soham Lode
that you have to cross as you drive down the drove.

On
the left shows a view from the bridge looking towards the town of
Soham, with the Lode on the right, St Andrews Church tower can just be
seen in the distance, on the right shows the Soham Lode
heading of in the direction of Barway, Middle Mere Farm can
just be seen on the left.
This area is included in the Soham Millennium Walk if you fancy an
exhilarating walk.
