Mill
Corner Described on a map of 1656 as Clay Street alias Mill
Street, in 1911 contained 52 dwellings mostly brick Terraces, and many
still survive today. The cottages originally built for the workers of
the Mill
.

Other
names that Mill Corner has been called in the 19th century are
Waterside, Porters Corner and even Bull Lane, the old name for Clay
Street.
Bridge Street is another name we came across, perhaps
because of its close proximity to Horse Bridge across the Lode to Angle
Common.
