Pratt
Street lies to the North adjoining Cross Green, so named by 1466, shown
on a map of 1656 when it was inhabited by 20 houses. Probably named
after the family of Mabilla and Thomas Prat who once lived there.
The photo on the left shows the old Bushel & Strike pub in the
far distance where Pratt Street joins Hall Street.

The
photo on the left was taken c.1930 from Cross Green looking
North along Pratt Street, the junction on the left was where the
Village pump
once stood, this lane was at that time called Pump Lane, now known as
Station Road as it leads down to the old railway station. Pratt Street
also gives you access to The Wetherall School.
