Speed Lane runs from Hall Street near Bushel Lane Junction to the bottom of Ten Bell Lane, in 1656 it continued on and connected to Kents Lane, called in 1656 Cross Lane. On Maps dated 1841, 1886 and 1902 it still continued on to Kents Lane, its name then changed to Speed or Speeds Lane, today Speed Lane from Ten Bell Lane to Kents Lane is passable by foot only, This footpath to Kents Lane is called by locals Stinky Ditch.
