Tanners Lane is a short Lane running from Fordham Road near the junction with The Butts & Sand Street to Brook Street. Shown in 1650 but no name shown, but in 1656 it is called Brookstreet Lane, but on a map of 1886 it is being called Tanners Lane, taking its name from the Tannery that once existed in this location.
